X3-55lbs-45"-12V Freshwater Bow Mount Trolling Motor w/ Foot Control
One of the finest trolling motors among its competition. Strictly committed to delivering quality control, excellence, durability, and reliability.
MotorGuide's latest X3 Freshwater Bow Mount Trolling Motor is designed to offer top-notch performance, ideal for quiet operation, reliability, precise control, ease of use, and value that will perfectly fit every angler.
This X3 freshwater trolling motorsport is an innovative steering system that puts you in a position to be a better angler. It comes with a larger diameter composite shaft.
The Proprietary Variable Ratio Steering delivers precise, higher-response steering and eliminates slack in fishing. Its Torque steering feedback is reduced for smoother operation.
An ergonomic, heel-toe operated foot pedal is easy to use. It is outfitted with tight-fitting components, fewer metal-to-metal interfaces, composite locking pins, a locking bearing collar, and a 2-blade weedless prop; everything helps keep the X3 smooth and quiet on the water.
Durable and reliable, the X3 features an industry-leading, aircraft-grade aluminum mounting bracket to minimize flex and ensure precision under high thrust. The outer shaft is stainless steel; the inner shaft is made with a premium composite with a lifetime guarantee against breaking, and stainless steel bushings and precision bearings ensure long-term performance.
Aircraft-grade-aluminum mounting bracket for minimal flex and enhanced precision
The newly redesigned X3 mounting bracket and base give the trolling engine, overall, greater stability. It likewise now includes an aircraft-grade aluminum backbone that resists flex when stowing and deploying just as during use or transport.
Durable and reliable; easy to use
The locking pins that hold the X3 in either deploying or stowed positions are now made of composite material to resist corrosion and harm. The locking pins are the most worn part of any trolling engine and can be the most widely known weak spot.
The new composite pins likewise prevent the metal-on-metal clicking found in standard metal pins found on other trolling engines. A double-blade edge propeller gives the maximum capacity of the X3 to drive any lake fishing trip. The double blade edges additionally work to prevent catching weeds in shallow water.
Ergonomic heel-toe pedal
Easier to use than most ordinary trolling motors, the MotorGuide X3 Freshwater Foot-Controlled Bow Mount Trolling Motorsports has a hinged "door" for easy motor height adjustment and removal; it's easy to stow and deploy and features classic 5-speed operation.

Speed Control Options
The X3 comes with a set speed control with five diverse speed settings that can be cycled through. Both the hand and the foot control options have models with MotorGuide's digital variable speed, which permits you to dial into the specific speed setting that you need.
Ruggedness and Longevity
MotorGuide's X3 is a new design for MotorGuide and features a shaft with a wider diameter and a stainless steel outer shaft on the upper section of the trolling motor.
You have the composite material on the part of the shaft that is more likely to be submerged and more likely to encounter underwater structures. This design gives the shaft the brute strength and ideal corrosion protection properties of stainless steel and the flexibility of composite where you might have impacted with underwater structures.
The composite locking pins instead of stainless steel pins made quite a big difference in the quietness of the general motor. It also cuts down on a lot of metal on noisy metal interactions, and it also causes a lot more friction and wears on those areas of the trolling motor. So sure, while the composite pins make the motor quieter when stowing and deploying, they are much more important to the longevity of the overall motor.
X3's ruggedness also manifests on the pro that is used. It is a large diameter and powerful dual blade propeller. The two blades have a distinctive scythe shape and make them excellent at cutting through underwater vegetation without the motor becoming bogged down and potentially wearing out internal components.
Mounting Versatility and Stowing/Deploying
The X3 mount provides an excellent base for foot-operated motors. It is quite wider than the old design, and while this takes up a little more room on the boat, it also cuts down on vibration when running the motor at higher power settings.
The use of composite locking pins also helps make deploying much quieter. This extra stealth is an awesome bonus feature for anglers that might use a small boat to get to remote areas.
You don't have much lift-assist technology on these trolling motors. Still, the extended aluminum arm gives you excellent leverage on the motor and makes it a lot less awkward when stowing and deploying.
Motor Direction and Speed Control
MotorGuide's X3 uses a dual cable system between the foot pedal and control head and their Variable Ratio Steering. The dual cable effectively eliminates slack between the pedal and control head. This means speedy changes in motor direction as you maneuver the foot pedal. This, along with the VRS technology, allows the trolling motor smooth directional changes with no obvious lag time.
It also helps the precision and eliminates compensation by the trolling motor giving you complete control over direction. You also get an extremely quiet trolling motor due to the bearing system employed in the control head.
For the models with the five-set speed settings, the transitions between speed settings are smooth. You can notice a little jump in power, but it seems like a smooth transition.
